NFL Playoffs: Conference Championship Round Predictions

As we predicted in the last set of predictions, the Bills did defeat the Ravens and the Chiefs did defeat the Texans last weekend to advance to the AFC Championship Game. We also picked the Rams to beat the Eagles and the Lions to beat the Commanders, but we got both of those games wrong. This makes us 2-2 in the Divisional Round, and adding that to the 3-3 record we got for picking the Wild Card Round, we are perfectly balanced at 5-5 in this year's playoffs. Could be worse. Here's our picks for the next round:

1. Commanders vs. Eagles

At 3:00PM next Sunday, the Washington Commanders will be in Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. It feels odd picking against the Commanders at this point, since they've proven most experts wrong two weeks in a row now, and it especially feels odd to pick the Eagles to win when we expected them to lose to the Rams last week. In terms of one-year turnarounds, this Commanders team might go down in history as the best ever. But the gut feeling around here is that the Eagles will win a high-scoring game in exciting fashion and advance to the Super Bowl. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders will surely keep it interesting, and Jalen Hurts' health is something to keep an eye on as he appeared to be dealing with a shoulder injury at the end of the last game, but surely the Eagles will put a stop to this fairy tale.

Final Score: Eagles win 35-32

2. Bills vs. Chiefs

We've been saying it for some time now, but this feels like the most beatable Chiefs team we've seen. They keep winning, but not by much. This Bills team will be their toughest opponent yet. Josh Allen is playing some of the cleanest football around right now, they're doing an incredible job at avoiding turnovers, and as a group, the Bills defense was really impressive against the very dynamic, very multi-dimensional Ravens offense last week. It feels like this is the year the Bills finally get over that hill and send the Chiefs packing.

Final Score: Bills win 24-17
